The Forrest Caves

June 2020.

‘The Perfect Ending’. Last bit certainly not least we loved exploring The Forrest Caves in Newhaven what a great place. I’m not sure what the Forrest reference is in the name as there was no Forrest, maybe someone could shed some light there. As for the caves, they are amazing, so much fun. This location was a very short detour off the main road and on our way off the Island. After walking up and then down the stairs on the boardwalk you are greeted with a spectacular beach, the views were spectacular. There were lots of of surfers out in the waves as the sun was coming down. Turn to your left and walk about 500 metres along the picturesque white sand and you will arrive at the unusual rock formations that do look a lot like caves. This was the favourite of the three places we visited today and there were smiles all round. A few too many smiles when after taking a photo I slipped, I should warn you it’s slippery up there and I did spend the whole time saying ‘careful it’s slippery’, and undead up with one foot fully emerged in the sea and a sore hand. It was easily laughed off, and the end of a happy adventure. @ Forrest Caves #phillipisland #southgippsland
